Health & Safety Guidelines

At Etheric Sanctum, we are committed to providing authentic tools for your spiritual journey. However, because many of our products contain organic matter, minerals, and volatile compounds, it is imperative that they are handled with the same respect and caution as any professional-grade material. Please review these safety protocols before engaging in ritual work.

Botanical & Herbal Safety

Many of our specialized curios—including loose herbs, resins, and ritual powders like Goofer Dust—contain natural irritants.

Ingestion: Unless explicitly labeled as "food grade," assume all herbs, roots, and curios are not for human or animal consumption.

Skin Contact: Some botanical extracts and oils (such as Dragon’s Blood or sulfur-based powders) can cause dermatitis. We recommend performing a small patch test or wearing gloves when handling raw curios.

Pregnancy/Health Conditions: Certain herbs (e.g., Mugwort or Rue) can be emmenagogic or interfere with medications. Consult a healthcare professional if you are pregnant, nursing, or have a pre-existing medical condition before use.

Fire & Incense Protocols

The use of candles, charcoal disks, and smudging herbs presents an inherent fire risk.

Supervision: Never leave a burning candle, incense cone, or charcoal resin unattended. Ensure all items are placed on a heat-resistant surface, such as a cast-iron cauldron or a ceramic tile.

Ventilation: Burning resins and heavy incense can produce thick smoke. Always ensure adequate airflow to avoid respiratory irritation.

Extinguishing: Ensure all ritual remains are fully extinguished and cool to the touch before disposal.

Sharp Objects & Mineral Handling

Occult tools such as Athames, Bolines, and Ritual Swords are traditional ceremonial items but are often crafted with functional metal blades.

Handling: Treat all ritual blades as live weapons. Store them securely away from children and pets.

Crystals: Some minerals (such as Malachite or Selenite) can be toxic if inhaled as dust or submerged in water that is later ingested. Do not create "gem elixirs" with raw stones without verifying their chemical stability.
